Solar Energy UK welcomes today\u2019s consultation on developing a Land Use Framework for England.[1]<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solar farms offer multiple simultaneous benefits, well aligned with the consultation\u2019s objectives to make land \u201cmore multifunctional alongside food production,\u201d while delivering the Growth and Clean Energy Superpower Missions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond producing vitally-needed cheap, clean power, solar farms provide financial benefits to local communities; integrate ongoing agricultural production via grazing; keep farms in business by providing a secure income; and provide valuable habitat for wildlife, aligned with the Government’s objective of nature recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We look forward to engaging with Defra on its proposals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
