Ofgem have published their decision on replacing FIT equipment, this decision was subject to a consultation which we responded to earlier this year.

Overall, our interpretation of the decision is extremely positive. The Annexes reflect what we proposed initially in our response: that changes in capacity should not lead Ofgem to assume that a FIT system may no longer be eligible by default.

Rather, the decision appears to say that if the capacity of a system changes (for example, by replacing equipment that is not like-for-like), then generators will still receive the FIT for the capacity of the original install. This means that systems could be expanded without jeopardising their FIT income.

Ofgem’s official response is available here<\/a>, we have written to the government regulator to request a meeting to check that this understanding is accurate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
