That makes the decisions taken today by local leaders more important than ever. Research for C40 provides indicators of the climate action cities around the world are likely to need to prioritise, in order to deliver on the goals of the Paris Agreement. By 2030 every city across the UK should be powered by at least 90% renewable energy, which makes solar a vital technology for cities and local authorities to embrace as quickly as possible. This bold action is necessary to help prevent catastrophic climate change, but it also promises huge economic, social and quality of life benefits.
